While I appreciate all the discussion that was generated, remember my
initial question.

At the end of the day somebody needs to do the work in order for Xorg
to keep working as it currently does.

So far not a single developer from the Xorg project has stepped up.
Remember you mailed the "X.Org user support and discussion" mailing list and
not the developers mailing list. But even so, the developers from the Xorg
project are working on Xorg, we're not here to perform for you
Do you understand that the purpose of an article is not the amusement
of the writer?

The purpose of my article was to inform *the public*.

(Not to mention many of us have employers who require that media contacts
go through our work press relations staff, and that we not engage in
   outside interviews without that.)
Are you telling me that your employee is forbidding you from engaging
with citizen journalists from the open source community?

You can just say that, and that's what I will report.

He did not say his employer [not 'employee'], he said some employers.

I would guess that you've just thrown away whatever chance you had of getting cooperation from the developers. (Is 'citizen journalist' a way of saying 'unaccredited journalist'?)

I'm not a developer, just a lurking long-time user, so not very newsworthy.
