(Not to mention many of us have employers who require that media contacts
go through our work press relations staff, and that we not engage in
outside interviews without that.)
Are you telling me that your employee is forbidding you from engaging
with citizen journalists from the open source community?
You can just say that, and that's what I will report.
He did not say his employer [not 'employee'], he said some employers.
I would guess that you've just thrown away whatever chance you had of
getting cooperation from the developers. (Is 'citizen journalist' a way
of saying 'unaccredited journalist'?)
I'm not a developer, just a lurking long-time user, so not very newsworthy.
