We just pass through install-sh from the autotools - certainly I am
using newer versions of those in current releases than I did last
year - right now I'm building releases with:
autoconf (GNU Autoconf) 2.68
automake (GNU automake) 1.11.1
libtool (GNU libtool) 2.2.10
