Xt-based toolkits use X resources for configuration, but CrossOver doesn't appear to be using such a toolkit. Other toolkits *might* use X resources, or they might not. Assuming that "CrossOver" is the Windows emulation software based upon Wine and formerly known as "CrossOver Office", I wouldn't expect it to support configuration via X resources.
