I'm currently using Kernel 2.6.28 and updated many drivers for 2.6.29-rc8 which I tried, I had many problem and reverted the Kernel to 2.6.28 and now, when I pan in GIMP (hold the space bar and move in the image), I get the following backtrace:

Fatal server error:
Caught signal 11.  Server aborting

Would that be one of the new driver I installed which is causing that? GIMP was working on 2.6.28 and I didn't update it (and it shouldn't crash X anyway).

Thanks for your help, I hope I'll finally find a stable set-up someday.
