Dear Bogdan,
It seems that your monitor support three kinds of output: VGA, LVDS, TV,
isn't it?
If you want to use VGA output and set the 1366x768 mode, you can test the
section like this:
        Section "Monitor"
                Identifier "VGA"
                Modeline "1368x768_60.00" 85.25 1368 1440 1576 1784 768 771
781 798 -hsync +vsync
                Option "PreferredMode" "1368x768_60.00"
        EndSection
The monitor must support the mode listed in the user manual. I guess
the X don't use the timing from mode line, so the monitor have no display.
Best wishes,
Gordon

Subject: vga output on intel 4500MHD

Hi everyone,

First of all thanks for all the great work.

I've got a problem and I've no idea how to fix it..

I recently got a new 37" lcd tv, and been trying to get it to work in
1366x768 (or any 'wide' resolution, for that matter).

I tried adding several ModeLines to xorg.conf, but none of them
seem to work.

The tv's manual shows a list with modes and frequencies supported for
the vga input, such as:

Signal name Horiz freq Vert freq
1280x1...@60hz 63.98 60.02
1366x...@60hz 48.39 60.04

It also says that:
* Applicable input signal for PC is basically compatible to VESA
  standard timing

I have no trouble setting the tv to 1280x1024 but for 1366x768 (or,
1360x765, 1368x768, 1360x768 - as I found on many forums), it just
doesn't work.

Any ideas?

I'm attaching my xorg.conf to this message.

Thanks,
Bogdan.
