Yeah, I was reading that code and it looks possible to make it work in
the future, but it's not something that's going to happen before
1.19. I'll see if I can't untangle that code enough to at least add some
more comments to it.
So, if you're willing to add a comment in patch 7/7 describing the
kludge and what would be necessary to remove it, the then this is
fine with me.
