It's not too long ago that I ran across an old X application that
insisted on a PseudoColor or DirectColor visual that I wanted to
display remotely on a Linux desktop which failed because only
TrueColor visuals were offered by the X server on that machine.  So I
do think that removing non-TrueColor support completely would be a
shame.
