I'm unfamiliar with this project (from a code point of view), so to me
both options are the same. Is there any advantage to doing it one way

Hi, Trevor.

Please use the same way as in the vmware patch for now. At some point in the futurem I might go over both drivers and change it to the XORG_VERSION macros, since it makes it easier to build the driver on systems that don't have pkgconfig.

Thanks,

/Thomas
