That's a common misconception about xfs.

Xfs doesn't serve font files, it serves pre-rendered font "bitmaps" that
are only used internally by the X server.

In a nutshell, if you're using modern apps with a modern font rendering
library (cairo, pango, libXft, Qt 4, etc), server-side font rendering -
and thus xfs - will never be used.
