Sounds like you've hit at least two separate bugs. :} Does
Option "EXANoDownloadFromScreen"
work around that one?
There are a couple of EXA bug reports about corruption which can be
worked around by disabling ExaOptimizeMigration. At least some of them
still seem to be there in Git master, unfortunately I've been quite
unsuccessful trying to reproduce them...
