One more point: the choice of name seems odd. The (completely optional) official recommendation in the spec is "the interface name should correspond to a D-Bus interface that the application exports...". This is an optional recommendation, and there is no need to actually export that interface, but the fact that this interface exists elsewhere (on the server side) suggests to me that it might be a particularly poor choice of name. org.freedesktop.Notifications.Sender or something?
