March would be good, it's much nicer then, but any later than that and it will be packed with tourists (And prices will go up). The nearest airport is Naples, a train takes about an hour to get to Sorrento from there. For the EU there are direct connections, from the US and Canada you will probably have to get a flight to Rome, and then precede to Naples from there, it takes about twenty minutes.
