Like so many other things, supposedly waiting for me to review the
patches. I have a load of other work at higher priority, and I've been
pouring all my available time on reviewing the buffer_damage things.

I'll just push a revert of this removal on my own when I get that far.

Though it would have been much more productive to review the first
patch using this... no biggie.
