That is annoying. Is there any reason this is a requirement? Or could the compositor be required to make up a new serial and put a different serial on every event?
Don't really like the timestamp idea because you are forced to artificially put a different timestamp on each event so they can be distinguished, even if more than one event was triggered by the same physical action.
