run sudo libinput measure touchpad-size and follow the instructions there (and
in the man page). might have to adjust the touch pressure sizes for your
touchpad.
by "very lightly" i meant taking care to almost not touch the touchpad, you
should not need any downward pressure to trigger a touch (beyond gravity)
