The patch has landed in git master, but after discussing with Michel on irc, we
came up with a more complete (and possibly robust) solution by monitoring
client states and cancelling the sync callback when the client goes away, ie.
being proactive :)
Long story short, would you mind testing this patch as well on your setup:
