Did you download and install a prebuilt binary? Or build
from source? You will help us help you, if you provide
exact links to what you downloaded, to the documentation
you followed, etc.
I would expect to see more output than you show above, from
that launch command -- including but not limited to a version
declaration, and some timestamped actions.
Have you checked the virtuoso.log, typically found alongside
the virtuoso.ini and virtuoso.db for the instance? The end
of this file may reveal why the instance isn't listening.
Once you have the instance running, you may need to adjust the
Yosemite firewall to permit connections to Virtuoso's ports --

There are other possibilities, but these are the most likely
to lead to quick success.
