Hi Richard,

Are you compile the develop/7 or stable/7 git branches ? Both build for me on 
my Mac OS X 10.8 machine without any custom configuration, I just checkout, run 
autogen,.sh, then configure, followed by make and it completes my environment 
having been automatically detected and setup for the build.
