How is the data inserted into Virtuoso is this done via the same Jena
application or loaded by some other means ?
Can you query the data via the Virtuoso SPARQL endpoint (http://
<your_hostname>:<port_no>/sparql) or some other means and receive the
expected data ?

Unfortunately set the enconding on the connection string doesn't solve
the problem. Any other thing that we need to setup on the client/
