Hi Alan,
Excellent! With the addition of those two files, it all works.
So how come nobody else noticed this? It is possible that I am the first
person to actually build from this tarball? I ask because I'm in the
process of writing a document that essentially starts out: "Step 1.
Download and build the latest version of Virtuoso...", and if everybody who
follows my instructions is going to hit this problem with 5.0.6, it would
be nice of me to warn them...
Well you are the first one to contact me about it.
Could be that lot of people use the CVS tree instead or maybe people are
shy :)
Checking the source forge statistics, it looks like many people actually
download the prebuild package for Windows.
In any case it will be fixed in the next release which hopefully be
released early next month.
Did you read the wiki pages on virtuoso building:
http://virtuoso.openlinksw.com/wiki/main/Main/
and particularly:
http://virtuoso.openlinksw.com/dataspace/dav/wiki/Main/VOSBuild
If you have any comments you want to share about the usability of these
pages i would really appreciate it.
Could you possibly mention in your document both this mailing list as
well as my email account (vos.ad...@openlinksw.com) as places where
people can post any questions they have about virtuoso.
If you want i can proofread your document once you are done.
Patrick
