Currently, if I press <enter> after the left curly brace, the cursor is
placed below the "f" in foobar.  For me, this is correct.

I don't know if I have something else tweaked on my setup, but you're
welcome to try my vim configs, to see if it fixes your specific Groovy
indent problem:
