It seems to be specific to incubator, as its subdirectories seem to be OK.

I also get a segfault with 1.14.3 on Ubuntu 24.04.

Thanks, I can reproduce this. Tentatively looks like a bug in Serf, but
it's too soon to tell. I don't know what's so special about the
incubator tree.
