You may try to convince the Pi-OS maintainers to enable this option again. You might be able to get this to work using a keyring, but I don't have any experience with it (I'm mostly a Windows guy). I've been planning to check why the script provided by Daniel Shahaf doesn't work, because I would also like to be able to save passwords from time to time. Kind regards Daniel
