Hi Andrew and everyone,
I do not think it is a bug in the network connection.
The root cause is, the patch over two commits is empty.
It means one commit makes a change and the next commit is a revert.
If you now try to update both commits at once, you will get the described error.

we use TortoiseSVN for our development.
But in a special situation we get an error 'Network connection closed unexpectedly' during a svn update. The

After a short communication we found out that the bug is probably contained in
the libsvn.
