Thanks for the link. I have only one bio_lcl.h file and it is in /home/jonny/subversion/subversion-1.12.2/openssl/crypto/bio/. There are many header files in /home/jonny/subversion/include/openssl. I had a look at the link you posted ( https://wiki.openssl.org/index.php/Compilation_and_Installation#PREFIX_and_OPENSSLDIR) and will try to complie with both PREFIX and OPENSSLDIR set to the same value (/home/jonny/subversion).
