Hi, during the Hackathon, jamessan made me aware of a webinar Assembla put on their webpage. Finally I got some time this week watching it completely. Talking about it on IRC, jcorvel suggested that others on the users mailing list here might be interested in that one too. So if those who jcorval was thinking of, here's the link: https://www.assembla.com/subversion (just click on "Watch the Webinar on NextGen SVN(tm)").
It features different views on SVN by 4 "experts" who share their opinion from their particular stand point. Since they are from different companies (Paul Hammant (DevOps Expert), Marcin Kuzminski (CTO, Rhode Code), Julian Foad (one of our SVN developers), and Jacek Materna (CTO, Assembla)) you get the chance to hear quite different standpoints. While the webinar is done from Assembla it really isn't some self-advertisement video and IMHO quite worth watching if you are interested to get different opinions of why certain companies/shareholders still value SVN over Git (and other VCSs). It also goes a bit into the details on what SVN 1.10 will bring as well as providing hints on what might be the focus for features in SVN 1.11. Disclaimer: I'm not affiliated in any way with Assembla and this post should not be misinterpreted for advertising one of the companies mentioned here. Regards, Stefan
