CIFS has a completely different permission model than Subversion expects on a Linux server. On top of that, the NetApp has a different implementation of CIFS than a real Windows server; so, who knows what limitations and quirks it has. I really recommend not using NAS for the repository. If you can't keep it local, try using iSCSI or an equivalent SAN configuration. -- Brane
