Following up to this: I've updated my SRPM building tools at:
https://github.com/nkadel/subversion-1.6.20-srpm
I've discarded building on RHEL 4, because it's obsolete and no longer
supported by CentOS or Scientific Linux. I've not stripped out the
interesting settings and disabling of components for RHEL 4
compilation, but it's building and operating well on Scientific Linux
5 and 6, both i386 and x86_64 architectures.
