Given that RHEL5 did eventually update from the 1.4.x initially
shipped, maybe I overstated the problem, although it seemed like they
kept it way too long. Perhaps just concentrating on not breaking
existing APIs (something subversion has been very good about) will be
enough to encourage them to continue to push out the newer revisions.
