You already found the correct method: check out a working > copy, set svn:externals to the desired value on the desired directory, and > commit.
That explains it. A related follow up, I'm setting svn:externals like so: https://devsubversion/svn/Development/Trunk/Projects/XCCS/Exports@1395 Externals/XCCS That seems to work fine, when I checkout I get the correct revision however when I was looking into this I noticed a different format: -r1395 https://devsubversion/svn/Development/Trunk/Projects/XCCS/Exports Externals/XCCS I believe my first example is the correct format now, and the other is just old or perhaps simply incorrect?
