You might want to consider installing and running Subversion Edge on your server: http://www.open.collab.net/products/subversion/SVNedge.html It provides a web based UI for managing your repositories and one of the features it provides is scheduled backups. So you can schedule a hot copy backup to run hourly/daily as well as how many versions to keep.
