This is some as-of-yet unkown problem with Cyrus SASL. See http://marc.info/?l=openbsd-ports&m=131805779110737&w=2 What OS are you running? Which Cyrus SASL version? Can you please try again with Subversion-1.7.3 (released today)? It should print a much better error message that might help us to pin-point the actual problem.
