How did that happen, if you don't mind giving more detail. Essentially we run one master and use hook scripts to sync out to the remote slave servers. In this instance there was a ~700Mb binary blob checked in to the master. The 3.5 hour delay was predominately transfer time of the 700Mb transaction set across our loaded inter-office link.
