Hi With some trepidation ;-) I would like to ask for opinions, somewhat related to this thread.
My understanding is that RHEL is intended for servers that must be rock solid e.g. Web servers. In our organisation we run Centos 5 (essentially the same as RHEL 5) on all our Linux development machines. This means that the 'engineering tools' such as gcc, cmake, boost etc. can become quite dated. Would people generally recommend a 'less stable' distro for development machines? Best regards David
