This was a bug which was fixed in March: http://mail-archives.apache.org/mod_mbox/subversion-users/201003.mbox/%3c4b8c0c9c.1010...@collab.net%3e I don't know if it made it into the 1.6.x branch. Did you try with 1.6.12?
