Dear all,

We’re trying to add emojis to an email signature, but they are saved in the database as “????”.

*Environment :*

OS : Debian 12.12
SOGO : 5.12.3-1
Ngnix : 1.22.1-9+deb12u3
MariaDB : 1:10.11.14-0+deb12u2

*What we have already checked or tried:*

 *

   Verified that the database, tables, and columns are using *utf8mb4*

 *

   Forced SOGo to use UTF-8 by adding to sogo.conf :
   |?useUnicode=YES&characterEncoding=UTF-8| to the SQL connection URL
   SOGoEncoding = "UTF-8";

 *

   Added the following directives in the Nginx virtual host:

/proxy_set_header Accept-Charset "utf-8";
proxy_set_header Content-Type $http_content_type;
proxy_set_header Content-Type "application/json; charset=UTF-8";
/

Despite these attempts, the issue persists.

I'd like to add that the emojis are working in the calendar.

Has anyone encountered this problem before and knows what might be causing it?

Thanks in advance for your help.
