I just tried it, HTTP GET request seem to work. What I did:
Use "cadaver"[1] ("command-line WebDAV client") to get to the right URL.
Use lynx[2] ("text web browser") to fetch the URL:
$ lynx https://a.dom.tld/SOGo/dav/merma/Contacts/personal/some.vcf
The reverse proxy logs a GET request when I do this.
