Dear all, I tried to follow the Quickstart on my new M1 Macbook Pro (Apple Silicon), which one of my students is also trying to do.
It fails with the following error

python maps to /usr/local/bin/python - it's a Mach-O 64-bit executable x86_64
python --version is 3.6.8
There is a homebrew python3 but it's an arm64 executable, so seems not to be
implicated.
