I’m looking for a bit of guidance. I’m working on a piece of equipment that
will sit out on a local ethernet network, providing a service, and my ex-Cisco
buddy says that there are standard services to do service advertising and
discovery and that I should use them rather than rolling my own.

To that end, I was wondering if the bsd networking stack in RTEMS 5 had the
widgets to support service advertising through the mDNS/DNS-SD system?

I’ll be working with and STM32F767, but Seb’s work on the STM32H7 networking
should open up the ethernet and bsd network stack to the F767.

If this all fails I could drop back to using LwIP out of ST’s HAL, but it would
probably be better to use the existing RTEMS features.

Opinions?

Thanks, Andrei
