Hi
I hope we all weather this pandemic with no one getting ill. That is obviously the first concern and priority. It is important that we all follow the guidance of our health officials and governments. This will certainly require physical social distancing, proper sanitation, and possibly self quarantining. With many public venues closed, we are all going to be at home for periods of time. This may provide some folks with the opportunity to relieve boredom through online social interaction, and even contributing to open source projects and communities. As the RTEMS Project approaches a release point, there are a number of small and simple things that need to be done. Over a series of emails, I am going to point out some simple tasks that could help individuals pass the time in a constructive manner. At OAR, we built a Covid movie list at work (Contagion, Andromeda Strain, Omega Man, every zombie film, etc.) as a tongue in cheek way to pass time. The Covid Code-In is just a way to have something to do if you get bored at home. I don't mean this to be tacky or thoughtless. I hope it doesn't come across that way. Please take care of yourself and loved ones as the first priority. These will be entered as tickets with the tags “small” and “tasks” and type “task”. They should all have an indefinite milestone. See https://devel.rtems.org/wiki/SmallTasks for the current list of tasks. If you think of other small tasks, please add them. Here’s hoping everyone and their loved ones pull through this pandemic safely. --joel
