Hi,
It is possible to create such PDFs but you need to know the standard
yourself. PDFBox doesn't support validation of A2 and A3. You'll have to
use VeraPDF or another tool.
PAdES is a signature standard. I don't know if we really fulfill it...
there are signing examples that you can try.

Hello there,
We are currently evaluating PDF libraries to replace our old iText library
(2.1.7).
As we are working in the aircraft industry, the PDF/A standard suits our needs.
Some of this PDF documents need also to be electronically signed.
PDF/A-2 and PDF/A-3 is based on PDF 1.7 which refers to the
PAdES<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PAdES> standard.
We would like to apply such advanced electronic signature to our documents but
for doing that the created PDF should fullfil the PDF/A-2 conformance level.
Is PDFBox able to produce (and validate) such PDFs with the PDF/A-2 (version
1.7) standard.
Any advices are welcomed.
Thank you for your answers,
Sébastien Sénégas
