Extensions are available from https://extensions.openoffice.org/. The
pdf import that you mentioned is available from
https://extensions.openoffice.org/en/project/pdf-import-apache-openoffice.
Be advised that most PDF's are image files and editing can only be
achieved using Draw. If you want to extensively edit PDF's you really
need a dedicated PDF editor.
