converting to pdf

Not everyone can open my Open Office attachments. So I convert to pdf and send 
both as attachments so if they can't open one they can open the other. At this 
time I am not able to find the documents that I convert to pdf. It shows that I 
have them, but I can't find them in my documents. Something has happened that 
they are going somewhere, but not in my documents, and I don't know where they
