the character is included with good fonts, such as those of the dejavu family. 
its unicode number is 0x2200.

            Same logic for a 'union' which is either a 'U' or an upside-down
intersection operator (which is in the special characters).

analogously, 0x22c2.

the symbols are also accessible in the math editor (insert - object - formula). 
alternatively, you can insert a text box as character and rotate it by any 
amount of degrees through the 'position and size' dialogue.
