There are many jaxb plugins. We have tried
the codehaus mojo one, this one
<groupId>com.sun.tools.xjc.maven2</groupId>
<artifactId>maven-jaxb-plugin</artifactId>
and
<groupId>org.jvnet.jaxb2.maven2</groupId>
<artifactId>maven-jaxb2-plugin</artifactId>
We've settled on the last one as it allowed us to easily pass jaxb extensions:

<arg>-Xdefault-value</arg>
</args>
<plugins>
<plugin>
<groupId>org.jvnet.jaxb2_commons</groupId>
<artifactId>default-value</artifactId>
