Hi Prabhu,

If you want to build your war-file, but don't want a certain dependency
to be included in the WEB-INF/lib-directory, then you should mark the
dependency as being provided as described in the introduction to
dependency mechanism[1]. By doing so the jar will be available during
compilation, but no included in the war-file.

This would result in something like this:

<dependency>
    <groupId>javax.servlet</groupId>
    <artifactId>servlet-api</artifactId>
    <version>2.4</version<
    <scope>provided</scope>
</dependency>

Subject: How to omit/include a jar file during packaging

Hi all,

I am trying to create a WAR file with class files and other jar files.
As I have conflict with an external jar file, I am supposed to omit my
jar file while packaging. Can you please let me know how to achieve
that?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Prabhu
