For EARs that's basicaly correct. Just the path is slightly different, it's 
prj_home/target/<prj_name-prj_version>/lib by default. Within the resulting 
EAR the path is /lib.

For JARs you should have a look at the maven-assembly-plugin an the 
jar-with-dependencies descriptor [0].
