I usually just put in the dependancy as I would like it to appear in my
repository
for example
<dep..>
  <artifactId>myartifact</artifactid>
  <group>mygroup</group>
  <version>1.0</version>
</dep...>

Maven then complains it doesn't exist.. and tells you how to install it.
Just replace the jar-file with the file it should use.
