I can develop an app from scratch no problem, the problem comes about where an application already exists, is built with ant, and maven needs to fit the existing structure. Maven 2 is significantly more difficult to use than maven 1 ever was, it seems no matter what options I try, there is some missing feature or other obstacle that gets in the way. The exact functionality I need is a maven 1 pregoal to run ejb:ejb before ear:ear, but these have been removed from maven 2 with no obvious replacement.
