Same here. I started using Maven 2 about a month ago. It has been *extremely* painful because of the complete chaos that is called documentation. Figuring out how plugins work is impossible because the documentation is either missing or halve-baked. I have more success with asking things on the list here, or searching the list archives. Or even reading source code of plugins. It is a pleasure to use Maven for my project, but it was all but a simple start. I think the Maven team should set some standards for documentation and simply ask every plugin developer to take care of it or else simply drop the plugin.
